What differentiates a Resin ribbon from Wax and Wax-resin ribbons?

Print durability: Resin ribbons offer the highest level of durability among all Thermal Transfer ribbon types.
Print speed: Resin-based inks require greater heat energy from the printhead to properly transfer onto the substrate. As a result, the printing speed needs to be slower (maximum 10 ips) compared to Wax-resin ribbons.
Label compatibility: Resin ribbons deliver superior print quality on high-end label materials, as well as on special substrates such as fabric garment labels. However, the versatility of resin ribbons is more restricted when compared to Wax-resin ribbons, particularly on uncoated or certain coated papers.
Printer compatibility: Like Wax-resin ribbons, Resin ribbons are compatible with all Thermal Transfer printers or coders, regardless of the printhead technology. Therefore, there are specific Resin ribbons available for both Flat-head and Near-edge/Corner-edge printers.
